Our Town Direct Mail | New mover marketing and targeted direct mail | Serving businesses nationwide
WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
Four things that bring them in.
Every piece of new mover mail lands in the same mailbox. These are the parts that decide whether it gets used.
1
The right list
Our list goes through a 14-step verification, so the card reaches the family that actually moved in.
2
A real gift
A gift asks for nothing, and people naturally want to return the favor.
3
Their name, big
Staff can greet them by name the moment they walk in. It’s everyone’s favorite sound.
4
A second visit
A thank-you postcard lands about 10 days later and brings them back again.
Piece by piece.
What a new neighbor actually finds in the mailbox.

OUR TOWN
The welcome gift certificate
-
Big on purpose. It’s a visual cue for staff to ask about the move and connect fast.
-
Their name, printed big. Staff can greet them by name.
-
A no-strings gift. No purchase needed, so it feels like a welcome, not an ad.
-
Two ways to track it. A UPC barcode so you can track it in your own POS system, plus a QR code your team scans in TruTrak®, which triggers the thank-you postcard.

OUR TOWN
The thank-you postcard, about 10 days later
-
A reason to come back. It lands in the mailbox after the first visit.
-
“Oh, you came back!” And the new neighbor thinks, “They remembered me.”
-
A softer offer. It has a longer shelf life, so it stays on the fridge or the counter.
-
Their name again. So staff can greet them by name, again.

A TYPICAL MAILER
What usually shows up
-
False moves. The list often includes people who didn’t move, like refis or utility changes.
-
The coupon gets torn off. The rest usually goes in the trash.
-
The name is tiny. Too small to read without it being awkward.
-
It goes in a wallet. No visual cue for staff.
-
It asks for a purchase first. $5 off $15 isn’t a gift, so there’s no pull to give back.
-
No follow-up. Nothing brings them back for a second visit.
Most importantly, the list. This card is addressed to my aunt Constance, who lives in San Diego. So why did it come to my house in Kaneohe?
Real cards, real hardware stores.
Welcome gifts, thank-you cards and neighborhood postcards. Design is included.

Questions, answered
What makes Our Town new mover mail different?
Three things: a verified list, a real gift with nothing to buy, and a thank-you postcard that brings them back a second time.
Why a gift instead of a discount?
A discount asks them to spend first. A gift asks for nothing, and people naturally want to return the favor.
How do you track results?
Every piece has a UPC barcode, so you can track redemptions right in your POS system. Your team also scans each certificate in our TruTrak® system, which triggers the thank-you postcard.
Does the list really matter that much?
It’s the most important part. If the card reaches the wrong person, nothing else on it matters. Many lists include false moves, like refis or utility changes. Ours goes through a 14-step verification.
Can Ace stores use co-op funds for this?
Often, yes. Co-op is a bonus, not a requirement. New mover mail typically pays for itself on its own. Here’s how to check your co-op balance.
